A three hour workshop for effective job interviewing

AGENDA

Introduction to the job interviewing process:

• Preparation for the interview
• How to communicate skills and accomplishments (PAR technique)
• Personal Statement
• How to handle difficult questions (Reversing techniques)

Role Play (2 hours and 15 minutes):

• Each participant is interviewed by facilitator in front of video camera
• Each participant receives feedback from colleagues as well as facilitator

Evaluation and Wrap-Up (5 minutes)

NOTES:
Participants can bring their own videocassette so after the workshop they can watch and compare with their notes made during the feedback.
Participants are encouraged to bring their résumé or a description of previous work experiences.
Participants should have one or two ideas about positions for which they would like to interview.
