At this informative and interactive workshop, specific topics relating to communication include listening skills, verbal and nonverbal communication, how to run a successful meeting, teamwork, dealing with resistance and giving and receiving multi-directional feedback. The various components of communication are described in general terms before handling each topic specifically. An interactive exercise specifically focuses on examining listening skills by utilizing a problem-solving technique. Participants receive instructions to complete the tasks imbedded in the exercise. Assessment and feedback on the group process in achieving the goal will highlight factors of normal conversation that interfere with the listening process. Because more than 60% of communication is non-verbal, a live demonstration is used to illustrate specific examples of non-verbal communication.
